Laboratory of Strain-Producers of BAS and Biosynthesis

 

Laboratory of Strain-Producers of BAS and Biosynthesis was formed in 2018 as a result of merging the laboratories of biosynthesis and agricultural biotechnology. The scientific activities of the laboratory are:

  • obtaining of L- and D-amino acids strain-producers and strain-restructures, inulin, α- and β-cyclodextrins, cyclofructans, glucose-fructose, inulin oligosaccharide and fructose-terminated oligosaccharide syrups, bactorenin, inulinase, CGTase, CFTase, α-amylase, glucoamylase enzymes, biofertilizers, bioinsecticides and other biologically active substances
  • transglycosylation of sweet glycosides (stevioside and rebaudioside A)  of plant Stevia Rebaudiana Bertoni
  • preservation of the collection of strain-producers

 

RESEARCH MAIN DIRECTIONS

  • Obtaining of biologically active substances by microbiological and biocatalytic methods, development and improvement of technologies, laboratory and experimental-industrial regulations, organization of productions
  • Obtaining of strain-producers of BAS by the genetic-selection method, study of their physiological and biochemical properties
  • Isolation and study of nitrogen-fixing bacteria. Development of technologies for biofertilizers of different significance based thereon by the biotechnological method

 

MAIN INVESTIGATION RESULTS

  • 1990: Evaluation and purchase and sale agreement of L-lysine strain-producer between Biochemistry Factory of Tripoli (Ukraine) and Research Technological Institute of Amino Acids (currently SPC “Armbiotechnology” NAS RA SNPO).
  • 1993: Purchase and sale agreement of receiving technology and strain-producer of L-proline between Degussa Corporation (Germany) and Scientific Research Institute of Biotechnology CJSC (currently SPC “Armbiotechnology” NAS RA SNPO).
  • 2001-2004: Agreement for research and experiments of laboratory research, improvement and transfer of L-proline, L-alanine, L-histidine and L-arginine strain-producers between Institute of Applied Microbiology of Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences of Xinjiang Province and Scientific Research Institute of Biotechnology CJSC (currently SPC “Armbiotechnology” NAS RA SNPO).
  • 2004-2005: Agreement on scientific cooperation (contract of receiving technology, evaluation and purchase and sale of strain-producer of L-proline) between Degussa/Rexim Corporation (Germany) and Scientific Research Institute of Biotechnology CJSC (SPC “Armbiotechnology” NAS RA SNPO).
  • 2008: Evaluation and purchase and sale agreement of L-histidine between Evonik Degussa GmbH Corporation and Scientific Research Institute of Biotechnology CJSC (currently SPC “Armbiotechnology” NAS RA SNPO).
  • Patented technology for obtaining “Azotseovit-1” biofertilizer was developed, on the basis of which a large-scale production was organized on the experimental manufacturing base of the SPC “Armbiotechnology” NAS RA SNPO.
  • Technology for the production of “Ecobiofeed+” biological preparation was developed, on the basis of which, at present, the production on the experimental manufacturing base of the SPC “Armbiotechnology” NAS RA SNPO is being carried out. Method for producing inulin from various plant raw materials has been improved, which allows to increase the purity and yield of the final inulin product.
  • Technology for the production of α- and β-cyclodextrins from starch has been developed, which allows to obtain cyclodextrins of pharmaceutical purity.
  • To improve the aftertaste properties of stevioside and rebaudioside A, the method of transglycosidation of sweet glycosides of plant Stevia Rebaudiana Bertoni using CGTase enzyme was developed.

Development of modern production technologies for obtaining biologically active substances by microbiological and biocatalytic methods and organization of productions for application in food industry, pharmaceutics and agriculturе.
